Rainbow Squares Felt Place Mat
Abstract squares fill this unusual and intriguing felt placemat.
With thick felt to protect your surfaces and an easy to knit pattern created by the clever use of simple mitered squares and variegated yarn, this bright and cheerful placemat will make an eye catching addition to your table.
This place mat is knitted first in pure wool and then felted in an ordinary washing machine. Don’t worry! My pattern includes detailed instructions for felting your project.
The squares are made by casting on and then decreasing 2 stitches over the middle of every RS row, this simple shaping forms the knitted fabric into a perfect square.
This modular knit has no seams to sew, each square is joined on as you work.
My clear and detailed 4 page pattern contains detailed instructions and photos to guide you step by step through, knitting and felting your mat.
