Rainbow Cardigan
by Quinny Zhang
This cardigan has batwing-style sleeves. Unlike normal bottom-up or top-down batwing-sleeve construction, the main body and sleeves of this cardigan are formed by two pieces of fan-shaped fabrics. Each fan-shaped fabric is folded up and sewn up partially from the narrower side of the fan along the edges to form the sleeve, while the wider side of the fan is forming half of the body. These two pieces of folded, fan-shaped fabrics are then placed in such a way that the wider sides of the fans are attached and facing each other. The wider sides are then partially sewn up to form the back. The fan-shape design concept is inspirited by the ARC Knit Technique, developed in Japan.
