The inspiration for this sweater came from my thousandth read-through of my son’s favorite book, Sheep in a Jeep by Nancy E. Shaw and illustrated by Margot Apple. It’s a sweet book with a rollicking rhyme scheme, delightful drawings, and sheep driving irresponsibly. The radish motif on this sweater is based on a project that one of the sheep (in the jeep) is working on. Neat rows of radishes march across the bottom of cuffs and hem, growing in lovely brown soil, their greenery reaching up into the bright blue sky. A perfect sweater for any kid who loves being outside (or loves Sheep in a Jeep)!

The Radish Pullover is a seamless raglan V-neck pullover, worked from the bottom up. Sleeves and body are worked separately, then joined. The yoke (and raglan decreases) is worked in the round for a few rows, before the V-neck is established. The shoulders are finished by working flat. Then stitches are picked up around the neck, and a ribbed collar is worked before being bound off.
