Radiating Lines Cowl and Shawl
This pattern contains two projects:
- a one skein cowl
- a two skeins shawl.
Finished measurements:
Cowl: 10” deep and 46” around.
Shawl: 17” deep, 38” tip to tip across the top, 80” along bottom border.
Yarn:
Cowl: 1 skein of WildStar Fibers Supernova Sock 437yards. Sample colorway is Desna.
Shawl: 2 skeins of Cherry Creek Sock from Dyehouse Yarns by Serial Knitters. Sample colorway is Popsicle.
Recommended needle size:
whichever gives you gauge or a fabric that you like for
your accessory.
Cowl: US#5 (3.75mm) circular needle 22” long.
Shawl: US#4 (3.5mm) circular needle 30” long. The shawl is worked flat but a circular needle will accommodate the large number of stitches needed.
Notions:
yarn needle for weaving in ends and one stitch marker for BOR. Extra stitch markers are optional if you wish to mark repeats of the pattern.
Gauge:
cowl - 24 sts and 48 rows = 4” square in garter st.
Shawl - 26 sts and 52 rows = 4” square in garter st.
Gauge is not super important, as long as you have enough yarn and like the drape of the fabric that you get. Both accessories end with a border that can be knitted longer or shorter as desired or allowed by your yarn.
