Treat yourself with a luxury crochet soap saver!
This lovely crochet soap saver pattern was designed to have texture - both for visual and touchable interest. The puff stitches add a touch of luxury and using a soft cotton yarn ensures that the crochet soap bag feels great to use from the start and bumps up the “treat yourself” feeling.
★SKILL LEVEL:
Advanced Beginner - This pattern requires working in closed rounds as well as 2 more intermediate stitches - the Puff stitch and half double crochet in the 3rd loop only. There are picture tutorials for the puff stitch and half double crochet 3rd loop only, as well as a full picture tutorial for the pattern. A crocheter looking to follow this crochet soap saver pattern should know how to: chain, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, create chain spaces and work into them.
★PATTERN INCLUDES:
1) Full version PDF with photo tutorials for the stitches, as well as photos for what each round should look like. This photo tutorial also has the steps written in detail. The full version PDF is 8 pages long (with pictures).
2) Printer friendly PDF with only one picture and 3 pages, to save ink.
★TERMS USED:
US Standard - Pattern is written in English.
★SIZE:
One size.
Approximately 3 inches wide x 4 inches tall.
Finished crochet soap sock fits the average soap bar that is purchasable in stores.
★GAUGE:
Gauge isn’t extremely important. After working 3-4 rounds, measure the width of your work. It should measure approximately 3 to 3.5 inches wide. If your gauge is larger, not to worry! It just gives a little more room for soap lathering. If your gauge is smaller, go up a hook size to ensure that your Soap Saver will fit most soap bars.
I am generally a “tight” crocheter, so my gauge is typically tighter compared to others.
★MATERIALS REQUIRED:
You will need a medium (4) cotton yarn of your choice to make your crochet soap holder.
You will need approximately 0.7 oz / 20g / 40 yards per soap sock made.
I used I Love This Cotton in Rosy (pink) and Buttercup (yellow).
★TOOLS: 4 mm (G-6) hook, Tapestry needle, Scissors, Stitch Markers
