Your mug is your key to office relaxation: an excuse to stop pretending to work and indulge in a nice cuppa. At all costs you must keep your mug from the sticky stealing mitts of those who can’t be bothered to wash their own. You could purchase a cup-sized Chihuahua to sit in your mug and growl menacingly, or you could knit yourself a territorial Mug Hugger.
Rabbit and Pork is one of six cockney rhyming slang Mug Hugger patterns in the Stitch London book. Rabbit and Pork = Talk (think of the Chas and Save song).
All change: You can mug hug pretty much anything: vases, pencil pots and beer bottles, lamp posts, loo rolls, jam jars, those street performers who stand still for hours, or pirate’s wooden legs. Add stitches to the length or width of the pattern to mug hug all kinds of things. Gift wrap a wine bottle as a gorilla, pretty a plant pot as a giant panda, or cosy London’s Gherkin building as a great white shark (that last one may take a while and you’re going to need bigger needles).
