A stranded colorwork cowl knit in the round in a tube and then grafted.
Skills required
Using 2 circulars to work in the round
Provisional cast-on
Stranded colorwork in the round
Kitchener stitch/grafting
Materials
385 yards of DK-weight yarn in 2 colors – 305 yards of the background color and 80 yards of the motif color (Sample was knit in Miss Babs Killington – 85% Polworth wool/15% silk)
Two US 6/4 mm circular needles or size needed to obtain gauge (any cable length works)
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends and grafting
Colorwork is charted only.
This pattern requires using 2 circulars to knit in the round as you want to encourage the tube to be flattened. You will find helpful tutorials on the ‘Pages’ tab in my Ravelry group for knitting in the round on two circulars and for grafting a tube. (This is the grafting method I used and found much easier.)
Sample was knit in Miss Babs Killington in Oak Moss and Paprika.
