Quintessence
I love the stunning colors in this shawl! The colors just melt from one to the next. I used two skeins of Stone Barn Fibers “Transitions”, color 2053, Sea Mist. I used one large skein (about 600 yds/548m) and one small skein (about 200 yds/183m) to get the wanted color effects. If you’d rather use only one color, you’ll need 800 yds of fingering weight. The lace is not too difficult and there is a large easy-to-read chart with full directions for working from that chart. ALSO, there are written directions for the chart for those who don’t wish to use the chart.
You will need to know how to work the following stitches: k, p, s2kpo, ssk, k2tog, k1tbl, p1tbl, and yo. There are full instructions for hooking on the beads. You will need 660 6/0 hex glass beads. I used black beads.
This is an elegant, large shawl. It will grace your outfit in every season. The shawl can be worn many ways (see photos!). The size is generous enough to wrap around and because of the beads it drapes beautifully. You’ll love the drama added to this garment by using the beads. The hex beads catch the light, glinting and sparkling; so pretty! Beads are optional though; if you’d rather leave them out (just knit the stitch, if you decide not hook on the beads.)
