Vivian Hoxbro has filled two books (Domino Knitting and Knit to be Square, published by Interweave in 2002 and 2008, respectively) with ways to combine mitered squares into an artful array of garments and accessories. Used individually, a simple variation of Vivian’s mitered-square technique makes pretty nifty coasters, too. Add stripes (always changing colors on right-side rows) and combine different yarns for variation.
