Questions in a World of Blue
There comes a moment in every knitter’s life when you crave for beaded lace for your next project. At least, that moment came in my life (once more), so I started browsing Ravelry to find the perfect beaded lace shawl pattern. Despite the abundance of wonderful designs, none of them was matching my urge. Then I decided to go for my own design, where large stocking stitch sections interplay with holey and heavily beaded areas. Questions in a World of Blue was born, inspired by the Owl Cave Ring symbol in David Lynch’s TV series Twin Peaks.
You will need:
One skein of lace weight yarn (750-950 m/100 g). Sample shown in Triskelion Emrys Lace (100% Blue Faced Leicester, 800m/100g), colour Ffestiniog, approximately 770 m required.
3.5 mm (US 4) and 4 mm (US 6), at least 80 cm (32”) long circular needles (or size to obtain the gauge).
Approximately 120 g 4 mm (6/0) or 3 mm (8/0) beads (1700 pieces).
A crochet hook of a size that fits in the hole of the bead.
Locking stitch marker(s).
A big thank to my testers Elo, Zouzou and Caroline.
Thank you Estelle for proofreading my English.
Thank you Alice Twain for the Italian version.
