Queen Vicki’s Wristlets Pattern makes a beautiful set of lacy wristlets that Queen Victoria would approve of. Perfect for afternoon tea, especially when your yarn and nail polish are coordinated! These wristlets also make great gifts for brides and bridesmaids. Our pattern includes four hand sizes, ranging from 17.5cm - 22.5cm or 7 - 9 in.

New and updated: we’ve updated the chart and added an option for beads, along with a photo tutorial.

You will need:

  • 164 - 175m / 179 - 191 yd (approx 50g) of a smooth fingering or sport weight yarn. We recommend Merino wool or a Merino/Silk/Cashmere blend. In our samples we used Handmaiden Casbah, (80% Merino, 10% Cashmere, 10% Nylon) and Camp Color - discontinued (100% superwash Merino).
  • 3.0 - 3.5 mm / US 2.5 - 4 knitting needles. We recommend a smooth wood or highly polished metal needle. Avoid plastic needles.
  • 1 wool needle for seaming
  • Optional: a length of laceweight yarn for a lifeline, if desired.
  • Optional: one small (10 to 20 gram vial) (or approx 100) size 6 Japanese or high quality crystal or glass beads that coordinate or contrast (as you wish) with your yarn and a 12” length of fishing line.)

Gauge: 24 stitches and 36 rows over 10cm / 4 in, measured in stocking stitch after washing and blocking.
