Queen Calamari socks are knit cuff down with a fleegle heel construction, allowing for a good fit even for a high instep. The cuff and the top of the sock is knit in a cable pattern while the heel flap is knit in a plane rib. The cable pattern reminds me of tentacles and crowned with a folded picot edge at the top, the name of the pattern felt obvious.

For this pattern I recommend a semisolid or solid colour (some speckles will work as well), for the cables to show.

Yarn
Fingering weight sock yarn, approximately 360-420 metres/100 grams, preferably a semisolid or solid colouring.

Yardage
100 grams is enough for up to an EU size 42 with a 15 cm shaft

Gauge
32-40 stitches (st) x 40-48 rows = 10 x 10 cm in cable pattern after blocking depending on size chosen.

Sizes
See table under Sizes.
18—22,5 cm in circumference foot/leg after blocking
The rib/cable pattern allows for a lot of stretch for a good fit.
