La quattro quarti è un’ottima torta nata nel nord Europa, che in Francia prende il nome di quatre quarts e nel mondo anglofono viene chiamata pound cake; perfetta per la colazione, impiega quattro ingredienti (uova, zucchero, burro e farina), in eguale quantità. Quattro quarti è anche l’indicazione ritmica che troviamo all’inizio di un brano musicale in quattro tempi. Il mio cappello si chiama così perché la corona è divisa in quattro spicchi che creano un motivo attraente grazie alle diminuzioni ritmate ai lati di quattro coste diritte.
Il cappello si lavora in tondo dal basso. Le istruzioni sono presentate sia per la lavorazione con gioco di ferri che per la lavorazione con magic loop; seguite le une o le altre a seconda della soluzione che preferite.

ingredients: eggs, sugar, butter, and flour. 4/4 is also the rhythmic notation found at the very start of a piece of music in common time. I called my hat thus because its crown is divided in four equal sections that, due to the precisely timed decreases of the ribbing, create an attractive motif.
