100% wool DK or a wool/acrylic mix DK. I used Rowan Baby Merino Silk DK and Stylecraft Pure Luxury Merino DK from my stash, however you could use any alternative yarn that knits to the same tension/gauge.

24 sts and 32 rows to 10cm/4in using US3/3.25mm needles over st st.
