Puffy rib tea cosy
This is a vintage-inspired cosy with thick, puffy ribs and is very versatile. My cosy weighed 53 grams when it was finished and would have used about 100m of yarn.
I have made significant changes to give a much thicker fabric (it really does keep your tea hot), a very elastic crocheted rib bottom that looks almost like it was knitted and some other variations for the fabric.
It is very easy to change the size for other teapots and the pattern gives stitch multiples to help you work out what you need for larger sizes together with other instructions that help you customise the cosy for your pot.
There is a plain area on top that you can fill with your choice of flowers, buttons etc or leave plain. There are two more variations for the top - one has a hanging ring and the other has a basket that accommodates the knob on a teapot lid very well.
You can successfully make this with odd metres of this and that so it is a great “scrappy yarn” cosy too.
