THE PATTERN IS AVAILABLE FOR FREE ON MY BLOG HERE.
As this year I had no chance to design a bigger CAL, I still wanted to share someting with you all and get together virtually! This is how the Puffs and Hugs Christmas Pillow was born.
I am over the moon by all of your lovely responses and the interest you’ve shown. Also, I feel so excited and nervous about it as I usually do when running a CAL, even a mini one.
The story behind the name:
This pattern is using one of my very first granny square designs, the Puffs and Hugs Granny Square so that’s how the name of this little design was born. Cute, right?
CAL start date:
The CAL starts on 01/12/2022. It’s before Christmas so if you want to use this opportunity to make a present for someone, you are at the right place .
Parts:
Week 1-2: 01 December 2022, Part 1: The Square
Week 3: 14 December 2022, Part 2: Joining and finishing
Materials needed:
• 3.5 mm (F) size hook
• 740 metres/808 yards (160 grams) of fingering weight yarn (I used Universe Christmas in Christmas Comet (24) colorway)
• NOTE: If you crochet loosely I advise you to use a 3 mm (5/0) size hook
• Yarn needle for weaving in ends
• Scissors
• Stitch markers (optional)
• Pillow form (40 x 40 cm/ 16” x 16”)
• NOTE: Blocking is essential to enhance textured patternwork of your project, open up your stitches and make your edges straight
Difficulty:
Advanced Beginner. Anybody can join in as the pattern will have CLEAR and EASY TO UNDERSTAND instructions with step-by-step photos.
Size:
The finished size of each square is 12.5 x 12.5 cm/ 5”x 5” AFTER BLOCKING.
The pillow cover will fit a 40 x 40 cm /16″ x 16″ pillow form when finished.
However, if you use different yarn weight (dk or aran), the finished size will be bigger.
Gauge:
It’s not critical for this project but may affect the yarn quantities required.
The finished size will also differ if you have a loose or tight tension.
Helpful tips:
Don’t get stressed about the time frame. It’s all about the joy of crocheting, so if it takes more time to complete each part it’s still okay! This is not a race. It’s a journey, our journey together to create something unique and beautiful with or creativity.
You can get the materials to be prepared for the start now or you can ask for the yarn as an early Christmas present (What a great excuse to get more yarn, right?)
This will be a written pattern only with no charts. However, it will have step-by-step photos to guide you through.
Facebook group:
Before the start date, feel free to join my Facebook group where you can get some extra support from me and some other wonderful members of the team. You can join HERE.
PDF file:
The pattern will be also available in PDF format in my Ravelry store for a small fee. I will upload the parts on the release dates (shown above) and once all parts released, I’m going to merge the parts in one file and upload that too.
Thank you so much for your time to read through this information! I can’t wait to start and see all your beautiful creations!
With Love,
Krisztina
