This garment is knit top down and mostly in the round and has a raglan construction, making it easy to slip on your little to test for size. The original design has short sleeves, but can be easily adapted to have any sleeve length desired. beginning as one might begin a top down raglan cardigan, then joining in the round to create an eyelet in the back that is fastened with a single button. 

at an empire waist, the color is changed as is the stitch pattern. the bottom portion of the dress features an all-over diamond lace pattern that gives a gentle flair when the garment is blocked.

The sizing for this pattern is somewhat unorthodox. The original was written for a size 3t- but the pattern contains an algorithm that allows you to place your desired measurements in to achieve the size you need.
