Project 2 - New Shell Scarf
Pattern Description from Heirloom Knitting: “This scarf is knitted in the New Shell Pattern, which is a garter-stitched variation of a Razor Shell Pattern. It’s interesting to see how the arching points created by the central double decrease go upwards with the Razor Shell and downwards with the New Shell - compare the pictures - this can only have happened because the even rows are worked differently; purled for the Razor Shell and knitted for the New Shell. The beauty of this simple scarf lies in the coloured bands of knitting.”
Note: Leave long “tails” of wool when joining in new colours, to knot and sew in later. If you don’t want to do this, knit the scarf in a single colour - it will be easier!
