In summer 2015 we were on a family holiday in Rhodes, in the Greek Islands. We were driving around the island and the mountains and there was this small village called Profilia and I wanted to name my shawl after that. The yarn for this shawl came from Greece, from talented dyer TréLiz.

I am a lazy knitter in a sense that I hate weaving ends but love gorgeous results and this time I wanted to design a shawl that would be easy to knit but yet interested enough to keep the interest ‘til the end. I didn’t want to cut any yarns during the project, so this is a design with minimal finishing.

This shawl is knitted from side to side. It is shaped with increases/decreases on the other edge and short-row wedges that shape the shawl into symmetrical shape.

Sizing:
One Size with US4/3,5 mm needles, finished measurements:

• Top edge width 70”/176 cm
• Depth 22”/55 cm

Try larger needles to get a larger shawl!

Gauge:
20 sts/31 rows = 4” 10 cm in garter st WET BLOCKED.
The exact gauge is not important in this pattern, however different gauge will affect to your yardage! This shawl was knitted with exact yarn amounts given in the pattern. Prepare with enough yarn.

TréLiz 50% Superwash Merino 50% Silk Fingering (100g/437yds/400m/skein), colorways:
A: Silver (light grey). You need 70 g/306yds/280m.
B: Mines of Moria (dark grey). You need 55 g/241yds/220m
C: Arya Stark-Ice Sky (turquoise). You need 55 g/241yds/220m.
Needles:
US 4 (3,5 mm) long circular needle. NOTE, you need a circular needle to perform the pattern!
Other:
Tapestry needle.
