Princess Sweater
The pattern calls for 7 50g balls of the Main Colour, and 1 50g ball of each of the 11 Contrast Colours.
The sweater is meant to mimic one worn by Princess Diana in 1982. The Australian version has a few differences. Both ‘zig-zag’ sections are worked in black, while Diana’s sweater features a blue section at the bottom. The original pattern features stranded male and female figures, while the Aussie version only contains female figures, for which a chart is provided.
The pattern is the first in a collection of patterns called ‘Top Trends in Winter Fashion….to Knit’, with the tag line:
Capture the royal look with our design above the Princess Sweater, or choose from more in this super selection!
A photo of the original can be found on the front cover, and the sweater’s photo can be found on page 68.(Trove) The pattern begins on page 72(Trove)
Note:
- the 3.25mm is for the ribbing
- the 4.00mm is for the body/sleeves
- the 4.5mm is for the Fair Isle sections of the body/sleeves
