Imagine wrapping the laces of your point shoes around your ankles. You elegantly step up to the barre and take first position practicing for your performance of Swan Lake.

As you finish you take a bow and open your eyes. A rosy cheek toddler waves madly at you as they toss cereal on the floor. Well, the dream was awesome while it lasted. But, now you can slip on your dreamy prima ballerina cowl and escape anytime you want!

The faux cables in the design were inspired by the ribbons ties on pointe shoes while the yarn over lace mirrors the clean lines and simple grace of a ballerina.

This cowl is a quick knit and perfect for that luxury skein of yarn you just want to pet all day long. It can be worn long and lovely or wrapped doubled to hug your neck.

The pattern is written and charted. Included is a video tutorials for reading charts.

Needle: US 7 (4.5mm) 32” circular needle

Yarn Used: Knit Picks Capra (85% Merino/ 15% Cashmere, 123 yds/ 112m per 1.76 oz/ 50 g skein) 2 balls in the color way Flamingo.

Yardage: 230 yds (210 m)

Gauge: 18 sts and 30 rounds = 4 inches (blocked) in garter stitch. Gauge is not crucial in this project but will affect the amount of yarn used and finished size.

Notions: Stitch marker, darning needle.

Special Techniques: Stretchy cast on/ bind off, knitting in the round

Final Measurements: 36 in (91 cm) long, 5 in (13 cm) wide
