Prayer Pillow
There is no one pattern for a prayer pillow. When I present the materials that are needed in my workshops, I give basics: how to measure a gauge over a patterned motif, where to add or subtract stitches to accommodate motif chang-es, and how to sketch out a design plan. Some folks chart every stitch and make the project complex, others are content with just dividing the design into panels or squares to be filled with stitches as they go along. I recommend a jumping off point of casting on 78 stitches to fit a 12 x 12” / 30 x 30 cm purchased pillow form. This requires a gauge of 26 stitches per 4” / 10 cm.
