Prairie Wool Car Coat
An outdoor car coat featuring seed stitch trim pockets and contrasting trim at the midsection and neckline. The sleeves are set-in giving the wearer a nice fitted shape. The sweater boasts 3-ply warmth without the bulkiness of traditional buffalo brand wool or cowichan sweaters. An important consideration: The tweed-like appearance of the car coat is created by using 2-ply of color with 1-ply of white. In order to do this the 6-ply skein needs to be separated. The pattern explains how to do this, it can be done quite easily. :)
If you have a stash of buffalo brand wool in the basement, this is the perfect project to use it up! If not, I have 2 kits available: size small in light/grey and white, and size M/L/XL in a blue/white mix prairie wool.
