Potawatomi Shrug
A great little shrug … feels like a shawl with sleeves to keep the arms and shoulders warm and cozy.
Construction: Potawatomi shrug is worked flat from cuff to cuff. Underarms are shaped by binding off and casting on,
and front edges shaped using simple decreases and increases. Ribbing is picked up and knitted on circular needles,
and wraps around bottom back, sides and back neck.
This is a suitable project for an advanced beginner knitter.
Sizes: XS (S, M L, XL, XXL). Shown in size S on a dressform with a 34” bust.
Some notes about picking a size: Because the shrug doesn’t fit around the bust, bust size doesn’t really matter. Rather, just choose the size that would generally describe your size. if you are normally an XL, then make that size. However if you’re an XL because of your large bust, but the rest of you is small, then go with the S.
The wingspan is an important measurement on the schematic. If you have short arms, or narrow shoulders then you might go down a size compared to your general size, or if you have wide shoulders then you might go up a size. Similarly, if you’re short-waisted or long-waisted compared to other people of your size, then you could go smaller or larger.
