This super-cozy triangle wrap in two sizes (petite/tall) features a throwback texture borrowed from old-fashioned “postage stamp” quilt patterns—with tidy alternating blocks worked in rich garter stitch and stockinette, then zipped together with a cute cable. The wrap is worked side to side, starting at the wide end; the stitch count diminishes with every right side row. The motif is incredibly simple to work, with wrong side rows all in purl stitch—just the project you’ll want to sit down with at the end of a hectic day.
Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size, drape, or yardage requirement.
The white sample shown here is knit up in Targhee Tango Sport (Finnish)
The Postage Stamp Shawl, designed by Anne Hanson, is published by Knitspot as part of our 2020 Red Scarf Scholarship fundraiser! All proceeds from the sale of this pattern through December 31, 2020 will go directly to our scholarship fund, administered by Foster Care to Success (learn more about Foster Care to Success).
The Red Scarf scholarship patterns are knit in Bare Naked Wools Festivus 5.0 yarn in the colorway Cardinal, and a portion of Festivus yarn sales is also added to the scholarship.
Yardage requirement petite(tall): 600(800) yards
Sample shown is size tall and knit in Bare Naked Wools Festivus 5.0 Sport, color Cardinal, custom-dyed for us by Frabjous Fibers.
