This tunic begins with the lace shoulder panel, which is worked sideways. Stitches are picked up along the edges of the panel for the front and back sections and worked from the top down in Stockinette stitch. The cap sleeve shaping is created by short rows. The body is worked in the round to the waist. The waistband casing is worked in double-knitting. After hip shaping, the front and back sections are worked separately to create side vents.

The drawstrings at the waist allow you to wear this tunic many ways—as a short dress, as a drop-waist tunic, or as a blouson-style top.
