This tam pattern features a design based upon the buds and seed capsules of the common field poppy. Seen in meadows and on wastelands all over the UK during the summer, these beautifully simple flowers glow a rich red amongst the ripening grasses, but although it is the flowers that we look for and remember, the buds and seed capsules are beautiful in their own right. Beads are an optional extra detail. The hat, being a tam, is roomy and warm.
