What to do with a ponytail when you’re wearing a hat? Squash it up inside the hat? Take the ponytail out? No, wear a hat with a hole in the crown, through which to pull the pony tail.
Pattern includes 3 sizes (photo shows M) so it’s suitable for girls and adults. It is knitted in the round with a simple knit - Purl pennant stitch pattern to add interest and texture. The hole is created with a Purl fold line and inner hem to add structure and strength and keep it neat.
I used West Yorkshire Spinners Croft Shetland Tweed Aran yarn. One 100g skein would make a S and a M hat. Any wool Aran would work as a substitute.
