Polwarth
A refined take on the classic top down raglan with sweatshirt style details worked in brioche rib. The raglan shaping is worked at multiple rates for a flattering and comfortable fit that follows the contours of the shoulders. Paired lifted increases with a hidden purl rib between give the illusion of a single column of prominent knit stitches that look the right way up once the sweater is turned.
Close fitting sleeves are worked before the body, my preferred construction order for a top-down seamless garment because it keeps the project portable for longer. The body is slightly cropped and boxy with gentle waist shaping and a slight taper towards the hem. Both sleeves and body are finished with brioche rib to match the neck detail. Directions are included for optional short row bust darts, in four cup sizes, which help the garment to hang well.
