Gauge
10 cm stockinette stitch with 6 mm needles = 14 stitches
10 cm stranded knitting with 7 mm needles = 14 stitches
(The needle size is only a guideline. If you get a gauge with more than the provided stitches you should switch to a bigger needle size. If you get a gauge with less than the provided stitches you should switch to a smaller needle size. You should make a swatch to check the gauge before starting to knit the garment, as everyone knits differently, and if you choose an alternative yarn it might behave differently).

Yarn
Troll and/or Blåne from Hillesvåg Yarns.
The sweater can also be knitted in Vams or Alafosslopi. If you knit in Vams, you will get a light, soft, and airy sweater. If you knit in Alafosslopi, you will get a robust, thick, and warm sweater that can withstand some weather. Alafosslopi is a thicker yarn than Troll and Blåne, so you can go down half a needle size from what is stated. Alafosslopi also has a shorter yardage. If you want a sweater for indoor use, you can, for example, use Puno from Rauma.
