Using tuck stitches and alternating between flat knitting and in the round knitting, the Point Flip cowl knits up as
a fun little puzzle and makes an ultra-squishy cowl that’s sure to keep you cozy! The cowl is fully reversible and
can be knit using either fingering weight held double or DK/Worsted.

You can also play around with the color story for the piece: either knit the whole piece in one color (or in one
marl combination) or alternate colors for the first and second half of the piece to create a cool, reversible
effect that allows you to flip which color is highlighted.

MATERIALS:

Size: 24-26 inch (60-66 CM) circumference; 32-34 inches (80-86 CM) along the length of the piece. Size may vary
based off of individual gauge, materials, and blocking methods.

Needles: US Size 9/5.5 mm 24” circular needle.

Yarn: 2 skeins of fingering weight yarn; 400 yds/365 m each; 800 yds/730 m in total. OR 2 skeins of DK/Worsted
yarn; 200-250 yds/180-230 m each; 400-500 yds/365-455 m in total.

Sample Used:
Fingering weight sample: 716knit 716Sock in “I Knotted For Hours” (black/grey self-striping) and “You Girls are My
Kind of Superheroes” (speckled purple). Both held together throughout the piece.

DK weight Sample: 716knit 716PRIDE in “Josh Can’t Overdye Black” (black) and “There’s a Bandana for That”
(orange speckle)

Gauge: 18 sts X 32 rows = 4 inches/10 CM in pattern stitch, blocked.

Notions: Scissors, tapestry needle.

NOTES:
This piece will use EITHER 1 strand of DK/Worsted or 2 strands of Fingering weight throughout the piece.

For either version, you can use one color for the first half (meaning holding two strands of the same color
together) or, in the case of the fingering weight sample version, hold both colors together throughout to blend
the colors fully.

Simple knit/purl stitches, basic increases/decreases, knit one below stitches, in the round knitting, flat knitting, and i-cord edges.
