Pohjolan häät is a stunning sweater, worked from the top down. The yoke, hem and cuffs have lace and bobbles, and the yoke is decorated with colourwork. If you work the body length longer than instructed, you’ll get a snuggly sweaterdress for winter.

The sweater has a loose hem and a more fitted yoke. Choose a size with approx. 1.25–2” / 3–5 cm of positive ease at chest.

You can substitute Ístex Alafosslopi with another chunky weight yarn (or any yarn you can get gauge with). Great alternatives are for example Finnish unspun Vuonue Unelma or Norwegian Rauma Garn Vams.

US 8 / 5 mm circular needles (32–40” / 80–100 mm) and DPNs for ribbing (if not using the Magic Loop Method), US 10 / 6 mm circular needles (32–40” / 80–100 cm) for Stockinette Stitch and colourwork. Or size to get gauge. 

NOTIONS 
Stitch markers, cable needle, waste yarn, tapestry needle.
