And.. if you’re headed to Rhinebeck from the NY area, stop into the Pick Up Every Stitch yarn shop in Mt Kisco, NY on either 10/17 from 12-6 or 10/18 from 12-4 for a trunk show featuring this yarn - and a few others - from Camellia Fiber Company!

Poet’s Dream is a lofty, delicate pullover with an elegant vibe. The simple woven motif shows up beautifully in this subtly variegated fiber, and the bit of lace that finishes off the design adds a lovely finishing touch to the panel. Stockinette around the shoulders makes for easy shaping and allows the two textures to stand out beautifully. There are a few spots here where I had fun with the transitions on this design, making sure that the lines are neat and clean and flow from one element to the other just the way I like them to - how the woven pattern lines up above the hem, the separation at the sides, the edge along each armhole, and the crisp shoulder seams, for instance.

Knitting this was a pleasure - between the soft, satisfying yarn and the simple motifs, I enjoyed every minute!

Worked from the bottom up, Poet’s Dream begins with two hems, worked flat. They are joined together and the body is continued in the round to armholes. The body is then split into two pieces, so the upper front and back halves can be worked flat to shoulders and seamed. Stitches are picked up around openings for collar and sleeves and worked in the round to end.

The woven motif and the lace transition are both charted and written, and notes are in the pattern on how and where to modify Poet’s Dream for your size.
