Plume of feathers
Sasha Kagan is known for her inspiring colourwork, and her latest design for The Knitter combines a striking intarsia yoke with a lower body of rich lace. The garment is worked from the top down; when the yoke is complete, it is cast off, then the body is knitted down to the hem. A hand-dyed yarn shows off the dewdrop lace pattern beautifully, while a decorative cast-off is used to add extra interest to the hems.
Yarns required: 
Malabrigo sock yarn 
A: Impressionist Sky: 2 balls for sizes 8-10, 3 balls for sizes 12-22
Rowan Cashsoft yarn 
B: Kiwi (443) 2 balls for sizes 8-10, 3 balls for sizes 12-22 
C: Deep (431) 1 ball for sizes 8-10, 2 balls for sizes 12-22 
D: Toxic (459) 2 balls for sizes 8-10, 3 balls for sizes 12-22
Rowan Cashsoft 4ply has been discontinued. An alternative yarn choice would be Rowan Pure Wool 4ply:
