Notes From the Designer:
As I worked this shawl, a light rain tapped against the windows of my home. It was such a calming sound, that I decided to name this shawl Pluie Calme. In French, it means “calm rain.” Later, it reminded me of the warmth I enjoyed while wearing this shawl on a cold, rainy day.
This pattern is a soothing and fun design. The repeating rows are easy and relaxing, and once you get through a few repetitions of the 2-row repeat, it’s very calming and meditative. Quite rhythmic, really. Then you get short breaks in the form of transitions that keep it from becoming boring.
I hope that when you wear this shawl, you too are filled with calmness and warmth.

- This pattern has a RS and WS.
- This pattern can be adjusted using multiples of 4+4 (4+5 for alternative cast-on). However, this will change the number of shells worked within a row.
- To increase (decrease) the length of the shawl, you can either add (subtract) the number of shell sections worked or add (subtract) the number of times Rows 6-7 are repeated within each section.
- The first stitch of each row will be worked into the base of the turning ch1 unless otherwise indicated.
