Plaits and Links Cardigan
Description
A wooly, Shetland-style yarn gives definition to Aran styling. Back and fronts are worked separately with raglan shaping.
Finished Size: 37¾ (41, 44¾, 48, 51¾)” bust circumference, buttoned, with fronts overlapped
about 1½”. Cardigan shown measures 37¾”.
Yarn: Green Mountain Spinnery Wonderfully Woolly (100% New England wool; 250 yards 228 m/4 oz 115 g): #7404 lichen 6 (7, 7, 8, 9) skeins.
Yarn Weight: #4 – Medium
Needles: Neckband and cuffs-size 5 (3.75 mm): 16″ circular (cir). Body and sleeves-size 7 (4.5 mm): straight. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Markers (m); cable needle (cn); stitch holders; tapestry needle; three ?” buttons.
Gauge: 18 sts and 26 rows = 4″ in Seed st on larger needles; 12 sts of Chart A = 2¼ ”
wide on larger needles; 18 sts of Chart B = 3½” wide on larger needles; 12 sts
of Charts C and D = 2″ wide on larger needles.
