Get ready for playtime adventures on the high seas with this super-fun interactive puppet set. The set includes a boat and pirate crew, sea monster and mermaid. The 5 finger puppets (captain, 2 ship mates, mermaid and kraken sea monster) follow the same pattern for the body and head, with colour changes and additional decorations to bring each character to life. The boat is designed to sit over your 4 fingers, with a doll puppet sitting on each finger, and the sea monster either inside or outside of the boat sitting on your thumb (see photos).

Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the puppets are knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round).

NEEDLES:
A pair of 4mm single pointed knitting needles (US 6).

RECOMMENDED YARN:
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; less than 25g in each colour.

NOTIONS:
Tapestry needle, toy filling, a stitch marker, a handful of toy filling or cotton wool balls to stuff the heads, and two 5mm black domed half buttons for eyes per finger puppet.


SIZES:
One size only - Finger puppets are 9cm tall, and the boat 19cm wide along the top.

TECHNIQUES:
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, knitting stripes, and seaming to finish.
