Pip Cardigan is a simple zip-up cardigan that’s easy to throw on.
Worked top-down without seams, it features a relaxed drop-shoulder silhouette.
Tiny dot motifs add a subtle touch of charm.
The pattern also includes an option for button closure.

NEEDLES
BODY: 4.5 mm (US 7) circular needles, 60-80 cm {24”-32”} or longer
SLEEVES: 4.5 mm (US 7) set of double-pointed (DPN)
RIBBING (neckband, hem, cuffs): 3.5 mm (US 4) circular of DPN

GAUGE
18 sts/24 rows = 10 cm {4”} in pip pattern using larger needles, blocked.
22 sts/32 rows = 10 cm {4”} in 1x1 rib using smaller needles, blocked.

NOTIONS
Stich markers, removable markers, stitch holder, tapestry needle, open-end sipper: sizes 1&2: 51 cm {20”}, sizes 3–6: 56 cm {22”}, matching sewing thread, hand-sewing needle or sewing machine.

Optional (for button closure): Buttons in your preferred size, crochet hook.
Sample (Size 2): 8 buttons, 12 mm {½”} diameter; crochet hook size 2.25 mm {B-1}.

NOTE
This cardigan is worked seamlessly from the top down.
The yoke is shaped with increases toward the shoulders; the back and fronts are worked separately to form armholes.
The lower body is worked in one piece down to the hem.
For the front bands, pick up stitches along the front edges and cast on additional stitches. Work vertically in 1×1 rib, joining the picked-up stitches with the new stitches as you go.
The neck is worked in 1×1 rib, then folded in half to create a double neckband.
The sleeves are picked up around the armholes and worked in the round.
Finally, a zipper is sewn in to complete the garment.
If you prefer buttons, the knitting process is the same—the choice between zipper or buttons is made at the final finishing stage.

ノート
このパターンはトップダウンで綴じはぎなしで編み進めます。
ヨークは肩先に向かって目を増やしながら編み、その後、後ろ身頃と前身頃を分けて編んでアームホールを作ります。身頃の下部は前後をつなげて裾まで一続きに編みます。
前立ては本体から目を拾い、作り目をして縦方向に一目ゴム編みを編みながら、拾った目を2目一度で
つなげます。
ネックは一目ゴム編みで編んだあと半分に折り、ダブルネックに仕上げます。
袖はアームホールから目を拾い、袖口まで輪で編みます。
仕上げはファスナーを縫いつけて完成です。
ボタンを選ぶ場合も編み方は同じで、最後の仕上げ段階でファスナーかボタンかを決められます。
