Pip the Alien and Cosmo the UFO – a cute, galactic pair! Pip likes to explore the universe and meet new creatures while Cosmo floats around in the galaxy dreaming of all the places they will see.

Pip and Cosmo are an easy amigurumi (crochet) pattern written in English using US (American) terminology. The pattern includes detailed instructions in an easy to follow layout but a knowledge of basic crochet stitches and techniques used to make amigurumi is essential.

Your tension, yarn thickness and hook size used will affect the size of your finished items. My sizes are:
o Pip the Alien = 15½ cm tall (6 inches)
o Cosmo the UFO = 7cm tall (2¾ inches)

You will need:

• 2.5mm hook/C-2 (US)
• 4ply yarn/fingering > less than 50g yarn in each colour: BLUE, YELLOW, ORANGE, PINK, GREEN, WHITE and BLACK
• 1 pair of 7mm plastic safety eyes
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle
• Polyester toy stuffing
• Stitch marker

Notes:

• Amigurumi is usually stitched in the round.
• A yarn with no stretch is best, I prefer cotton.
• When changing colour, yarn over the new colour and pull through on the stitch prior.
• Generally, the hook you use for amigurumi will be a smaller than for other crochet as you want the stitches tight.
