Pip
One of the fantastic things about working for a yarn company is that I am forced sometimes to design and knit with yarns that wouldn’t normally be my cup of tea. We all need to get outside of our little self-proscribed boxes from time to time, don’t you think? So Berroco Medina crossed my desk and initially I wrote it off as “not my jam,” but after seeing some of the cool things my colleagues were creating with this stripey cotton yarn, I thought I’d see what I could come up with on my own.
This particular garment is knit in two directions to make the most of the color repeat, while also creating nice vertical lines along the mid-torso, with the horizontals across the yoke section balancing out my rather narrow shoulders.
This breezy, short-sleeve cardi can be worn over a long-sleeved t-shirt to provide a little extra warmth in cool spring weather, or could be worn over a tank top or cami in warmer weather.
