If you’d prefer not to knit the lining, buy 3 skeins fewer putty-colored yarn and follow the instructions for sewing on a fabric backing. The accompanying dolly can be completed in a few hours - and enjoyed for years. Her pants are ‘built in,’ but her heart sweater can be taken on and off.”

Yarn: Jo Sharp Soho Summer DK (100% cotton; 109 yards / 50 grams). 1 skein each #227 putty, #221 Carmen (red), #228 calico (natural) #226 umber (brown).

Needles:

• One set straight needles size US 3 (3.25 mm).
• One set straight needles size US 6 (4 mm).
• Change needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
