Pick Up A Book Socks
Like many knitters, when I was first learning to knit, I thought there was only one way to do things. Time and experience have taught me that for just about every way of doing something in knitting, there are several others. Picking up stitches under both legs of the slipped stitch edge along the heel flap of my cuff down socks, leaves a tidy “chain” along the inside of the sock, that in heavier weight yarns my “sensitive foot” found uncomfortable. Picking up the “bar” behind and under those slipped stitches pushed that neat “chain” to the outside of the sock, which was much more comfortable.
A photo tutorial showing how to perform the pick up is included.
