The Phoenix Cowl was originally written as a fundraiser for our neighbor, Renner’s Grill. In March of 2018, a fire destroyed their kitchen and shut down the restaurant for close to two years. Northwest Wools wanted to help their employees while they were out of work, so we created this pattern and donated money from each sale to Renner’s.

The phoenix was chosen for the motif because we knew that, just like the mythical bird, Renner’s would be reborn from their ashes to live on in Multnomah Village.
