Phoebis
Usually found in the Americas from Argentina to the State of Texas, the Phoebis sennae butterfly, or Cloudless Sulphur, is also periodically seen throughout central California and clear on up to Ontario, Canada.
Crescent is worked in long, sweeping rows from the cast on edge, through the lace portion, and straight on to the short-rows that shape it into a crescent before binding off.
Finished size depth at widest point x length at inner edge/length at outer edge: 8 x 50/66 (8.75 x 60/79, 9.75 x 69/91, 10.5 x 79/104) inches; 20.5 x 127/167.5 (22 x 152.5/200.5, 25 x 175/231, 26.5 x 200.5/264) cm.
Yarn: Aran weight; 225 (300, 375, 450) yards.
Skills: k2tog, ssk, YO, left- and right-leaning 2x2 cable, short rows
Notions: 2 stitch markers required; cable needle optional
