Petite Poncho
The sample is made in Mary Lue’s Liberty Plus. It is a light #4 yarn that knits to 5.5 stitches/8 rows/inch in stockinette. Similar results may be obtained with Caron Simply Soft and Tamm Nordic. The sample was made on the Artisan 70-D mid-gauge machine at stitch size 7. Bulky machines can match the gauge, usually at stitch size 3-4. Plastic mid-gauge machines match gauge at stitch size 4-6. Some standard gauge machines can match gauge using every other needle. Precise gauge is not essential to this project because it is not a very fitted garment. Get as close as you can and that will be good enough. Less than 8 oz. needed. A ribber is helpful but not essential.
