Perugia Earwarmer
DESCRIPTION
This pattern is knit in the round, bottom up and is part of the Umbria Collection. The design was inspired by the fountain in the main square of Perugia, Italy with its striking marble carvings that beautifully weave together the mythological and biblical worlds. This earwarmer draws from the ornate carvings to create a complex texture that is a joy to knit.
This pattern has two sizes available (Adult Small & Adult Large) and has instructions on how to easily modify the circumference of the earwarmer.
SKILLS
This includes an advanced beginner level knitting pattern. The ear warmer is knit in the round from the bottom up. The techniques involved are knit, purl, right twist & the Estonian button stitch. There are written instructions as well as a link to my instructional videos for the right twist & the Estonian button stitch. All Frosia Knits patterns are written in standard US terms.
YARN
You will need 1 skein of Malabrigo Dos Tierras DK weight yarn (50% Merino Wool, 50% Baby Alpaca). Each skein is 210 yds (193 m). You will need about 85-110 yds (78-100 m) total to complete one earwarmer. The sample was knit using the Pearl colorway. You can easily substitute any similar DK weight yarn, just make sure to check your gauge.
