This shawl starts out like a sideways shawl but takes an unexpected twist right in the middle. After knitting a soothing amount of garter stitch, the second part is joined to the first by working a knitted-on edging while simultaneously increasing before ending with only a few stitches to cast off.
There are now notes on how to adapt it to a different yarn weight and what to do if you run out of yarn.

Gauge: Small: 19 sts & 30 rows = 10 cm / 4” on US 6/4mm needles over garter stitch after blocking
Large: 26 sts and 38 rows = 10cm / 4” on US 4/3.5mm
needles over garter stitch after blocking

Needles: US 6 (4)/ 4 (3.5)mm circular needle at least 24” / 60cm length
Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.

Das Perpendicular-Tuch jetzt auch in einer deutschen Fassung. Perpendicular bedeutet senkrecht auf Englisch. Und so ist das Tuch auch konstruiert: nach ca. der Hälfte des Strickstückes wird die Strickrichtung geändert.
Herausgekommen ist eine einfach zu tragende Form, die gleichzeitig auch für Strick­-Anfänger geeignet ist. Die Anleitung bietet zwei Größen, die in Sockenwoll­-Stärke gearbeitet sind. Gleichzeitig gibt es jedoch Anmerkungen und Hilfen, wie man das Tuch an seine eigene Garnmenge und ­-stärke anpassen kann.
