Permission Slip is a rectangle shawl / scarf filled with texture and fun slipped stitches. Each mosaic stitch pattern is worked with one strand at a time, alternating Mohair and Slub (or another pair of fingering and lace yarns), to create a light, airy shawl that looks almost ethereal when it catches the light.

Use a monochromatic palette like I did, or be adventurous with bold contrasts.

Size: 19”/ 48cm x 48”/ 122cm.

Needles: US 5/ 3.75mm, or size to obtain gauge, in circular needles, at least 20”/ 50cm.

Gauge: 24 sts and 32 rows = 4”/ 10cm over stockinette stitch in Slub, blocked and dried. Differences in gauge will affect drape and yardage requirements.

Yarn:
fingering weight Slub: 420 yards / 385 meters; and
laceweight Mohair: 450 yards / 413 meters.

Notions: tapestry needle to weave in ends.

Sample knit in: Emma’s Yarn Mo’ Slub bundle in Morel of the Story: Slubby Slub (90% superwash Merino, 10% nylon; 438 yards / 100g), and Marvelous Mohair (72% Kid Mohair, 28% Silk; 459 yards / 50g) in Morel of the Story.
