When I planned My Year of Mitts, I really wanted to make mitts with beads. And as life rushes by, they have only come at the very last month. Beads look very pretty, but they also slow down crocheting. As such, I chose a geometric pattern so you do not have to worry so much about the placement of each bead. I made the mitts two-color because I like to buy beads just right for the yarn — but if I had used blue beads on blue yarn, you would not have been able to see anything of them. And because I also wanted to use just the right blue, there is the blue thumb.

The mitts are made of slip stitches so that they fit snugly on the hand. The lace yarn lets them be very delicate and fine.

Als ich My Year of Mitts geplant habe, wollte ich unbedingt Pulswärmer mit Perlen machen. Und wie das Leben so spielt, kommen sie erst im allerletzten Monat zum Zuge. Perlen sehen sehr hübsch aus, aber sie halten auch auf beim Häkeln. Also habe ich ein geometrisches Muster gewählt, damit man sich wenigstens nicht so viele Gedanken machen muss, wo die Perlen jeweils hinkommen. Ich habe sie zweifarbig gehäkelt, weil ich so gern Perlen genau passend zum Garn kaufe — aber wenn ich blaue Perlen auf blauem Garn benutzt hätte, hätte man nichts von ihnen gesehen. Und weil ich das passende Blau auch noch einbauen wollte, gibt es den andersfarbigen Daumen.

Die Pulswärmer sind aus Kettmaschen gehäkelt, so dass sie sich gut an die Hand anschmiegen. Das Lacegarn lässt sie sehr zart und fein sein.
