One of my first crochet projects was a simple half double crochet beanie and I always find myself going back to it. With basic stitches and sizing for the whole family (from newborn to adult), this pattern is perfect for both beginning crocheters and seasoned crafters looking for that perfect, go-to crochet hat pattern.

Required for this pattern is a skein of worsted weight yarn, an H (5mm) crochet hook and a G (4mm) crochet hook.

This is a beginner friendly pattern, requiring you to only know single, and half double crochet stitches. There is an additional, more advanced, option for the brim of the hat included in the pattern using front post/back post double crochet stitches.
